Okay, I don't leave for three weeks.  I'm a little stir-crazy sitting here at home, so I thought I would mess around and make a blog.  Figuratively speaking, I'm so ready to go, but literally, I am not even close to being ready.  I have host family presents to buy, readings to do, and of course, all sorts of packing conundrums to sort out.  

The program is going to e-mail a list of other students on the trip soon-- and we all know that means everyone will be facebooking each other the moment they receive the e-mail.  This brings flashbacks to the summer before the first year of college... gotta love facebook groups and preemptive internet friendship-building!  This gave me pause; I'm curious to know who I seem to be according to facebook.  Happily, the period of judging a book by its cover/person by their facebook profile is thankfully much more minimized than the drawn-out pre-college experience that was summer 2006.  For as much as I love facebook, I'm more looking forward to the initial moment of meeting everyone in person at JFK and suddenly being thrown into an entire semester abroad with them.  Should be good!
